Celebrating 25 Years of Promoting
Diverse Leadership in Public Services
The
25th Anniversary of PPIA marks a historic occasion to
celebrate the program's achievements and to pay homage
to its many devoted supporters, partners and program fellows/alumni.
The milestone also enables many individuals who have benefited
from PPIA and others who supported PPIA's mission to give
back and help chart its next 25 years of programs and
services.
Honoring
Hugh Price
Senior Advisor, DLA, Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP
Former President and CEO of the National Urban League
Has an illustrious career dedicated to education, economic
empowerment and various other public policy issues.
Hugh Price will deliver the keynote address and he
will receive the “Spirit of PPIA Award”
Susan Schwab
President and CEO of the University of Maryland Foundation,
Inc.
Has a distinguished career spanning government, academic
and corporate sector. Susan most recently served as dean
of the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland
and was the first Board of Directors Chairperson of the
newly incorporated PPIA Program.
Susan Schwab will receive the “PPIA Leadership
Award”

Conference
In addition to the GALA, PPIA will host an alumni conference
and luncheon on Saturday, November 5th at the JW Marriott.
The conference will include discussions on current public
policy issue(s) and workshops relevant to careers serving
the public good. The luncheon will feature awards, alumni
recognition, and networking opportunities.

Scholarships
PPIA is now accepting scholarship applications for recent
PPIA Fellows who cannot afford the ticket price for our
gala.
To access the application you must log-in to ALUMNI-NET.
The application must be completed and sumitted via email
to ppia@ppiaprogram.org by 10:00am Monday, Oct. 31st.
Selected candidates will be contacted by the end of business
of that day. All selected candidates will be required
to volunteer for a portion of the Gala or Pre-Gala.
