Women’s Leadership Program Manager. Originally from California, Erin earned a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of California, Davis in 2007. She moved to Washington, DC in 2007 to launch her career in public service, and has worked for several organizations involved with public policy advocacy and leadership development.

PPIA received more than 120 applications for the position and Erin emerged from a very strong applicant pool as the top candidate in a series of interviews conducted in March and April by a search committee that included PPIA co-chair and Assistant Dean of the University of California, Berkeley Goldman School Martha Chavez, APSIA Executive Director Leigh Morris Sloane, Master of Science in Public Policy and Management Program Director Gladys Perez from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, and Maryland School of Public Policy Associate Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations Bryan Kempton. Erin impressed the committee with her superior leadership, strategic planning, communication, and managerial skills, as well as her deep commitment to advancing the goals and mission of PPIA. Erin will be just the 2nd woman to manage PPIA in its 30 years of operation.

Erik Devereux, who has been serving under a consulting contract as interim PPIA administrator since last October, will continue in that capacity through June and then will be participating in the transition in the PPIA National Office at American University. The PPIA board looks forward to a successful transition that positions PPIA for a new era of growth and success in fostering diversity and leadership in public service. There will be many opportunities soon for the PPIA community to meet Erin, beginning with the 10th Annual PPIA Graduate School and Career Expo, to be held at American University in Washington, DC on July 20. The PPIA leadership looks forward to welcoming Erin Mann as PPIA National Office Administrator on July 1, 2012.
