The Master of Public Administration program at UNC-Chapel Hill is a nationally ranked degree program for either full-time or part-time students. With courses ranging from management, leadership, to public policy analysis and project evaluation, the program educates leaders for local, state, and federal governments and the nonprofit sector.

Graduate Program Overview

The Graduate School of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill encompasses 80-plus programs offering more than 160 different graduate degrees. Graduate students and professional students make up about 37 percent of Carolina's total number of enrolled students. There is a great deal of diversity among our graduate students, with more than 13 percent coming from underrepresented groups: African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian. Another 14 percent are international students.

Admissions Deadline

On-campus MPA format has annual deadline of early January.
Online MPA has four intakes a year with a regular application deadline of approximately two months before start date.

Admissions Overview

Standard application materials are required - 3 recommendations, 1-2 page purpose statement, resume, application form, unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. All candidates are interviewed for the online format, while only those being considered for admittance are invited to interview for the on-campus format.
