Apply to attend this free student conference designed to equip you with the skills necessary to find your place in the public service sector. This 2-day interactive weekend will expose up to 30 students to the many options for a public service career.

  • Where do you want to make an impact?  Panel and group discussions with graduate students, faculty, and public sector experts will help you narrow your focus.
  • What does a public service career actually look like? Engage with your fellow students and the GPS community as you participate in an interactive case-study in the policy-making process, including practice writing a policy brief.
  • What do you need to know to get into a public service career? Weekend activities will include real world skills development, including how to find internships and jobs, crafting the best possible resume, interview skills 101, and guidance on applying to graduate school.

Eligibility
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, a legal permanent resident or qualify for the DREAM Act. Participants will be undergraduate sophomores or juniors at a 2 or 4-year college or university living in Southern California with an interest in the public sector.  Preference will be given to underrepresented minorities.  All majors are welcome.
