Josh Diosomito was appointed Interim Executive Director on June 1, 2025, bringing 20 years of experience across public, private, and nonprofit sectors as a proud PPIA alumnus and talent development leader.
His career in public service began in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional investigator with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), driving oversight of critical homeland security operations. Leading cross-functional teams, he led investigative audits into aviation, border, and maritime security operations, delivering impactful findings and recommendations that shaped Congressional policy. Beyond his oversight work, Josh dedicated himself to empowering future leaders as an Adjunct Faculty instructor, designing and facilitating leadership courses that fostered inclusive workplaces across federal, state, and local agencies.
Josh later transitioned to the private sector, where he continued his mission of leadership development. At Capital Group, a global wealth investment firm, he led transformative leadership development, mentoring, and diversity initiatives, positively impacting nearly 9,500 associates across 32 global locations. His commitment to fostering high-performing, inclusive teams carried forward to Harvard Business Publishing (a subsidiary of Harvard Business School), where he designs and delivers leadership programs that equip global executives to drive meaningful change.
Raised in Los Angeles, CA, he developed a deep understanding of community engagement and resilience. His journey with PPIA began as a Fellow at the Junior Summer Institute at the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley—a formative experience that deepened his passion for public service. His dedication to expanding pathways for emerging leaders led to continued involvement with PPIA—serving on the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Alumni Advisory Council.
Josh earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley (cum laude) and dual master’s degree in Public Administration & International Relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs.
Outside of work, he is a devoted husband and father, marathon runner, and avid golfer—always striving for excellence, whether on the course, the track, or in leadership.
