Board Director

Dr. Ernesto Martinez is a market research and investment insights leader with experience spanning asset management, life sciences, and nonprofit governance. He currently serves as Senior Manager at Capital Group, where he conducts research on institutional investors and retirement markets, helping inform strategy across a broad range of financial products and stakeholders.


Over the course of his career, Ernesto has led and managed research initiatives at global organizations including Capital Group, Amgen, and Medtronic. His work has focused on translating complex data into actionable insights, with expertise in investor behavior, market dynamics, and emerging technologies. Trained as a social anthropologist, Ernesto brings a rigorous, human-centered approach to research and decision-making.


In addition to his corporate role, Ernesto serves on the Board of the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation, where he is Treasurer and Chair of the Investment Committee. In this capacity, he supports financial stewardship and investment strategy in service of expanding access to parks and open space across Los Angeles County.


Ernesto is an active member of the PPIA alumni community and a strong advocate for expanding pathways into higher education and public service. He holds a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
