Board Director

LaSandra Hutchinson is a public policy and civic engagement leader with experience spanning local government, education governance, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy. She currently serves as Community Outreach and Training Coordinator for the Cook County Department of Human Rights and Ethics, where she advances education, compliance, and community engagement efforts that promote equity and access across county programs.


In addition to her public sector role, LaSandra is an elected official, serving as School Board Secretary for Matteson Elementary School District 162. In this capacity, she contributes to district governance, financial oversight, superintendent evaluation, and policy development in partnership with fellow board members and the community.


LaSandra is also the founder and CEO of Grace & Grief, LLC, a social enterprise focused on trauma-informed coaching, grief education, and restorative leadership. Through speaking, writing, and facilitated experiences, she supports individuals and organizations in building resilience and navigating life after loss.


A longtime leader within the PPIA, LaSandra served as Co-Chair of the Alumni Advisory Council and founded the Chicago Alumni Chapter. Through this work, she helped formalize alumni chapters and strengthen mentorship and graduate education pathways, reinforcing a deliberate pipeline from alumni leadership into organizational governance and long-term stewardship.


LaSandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a Master of Public Administration and Policy from American University.
