Leigh Morris Sloane is Managing Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)–Americas, where she leads operations and outreach for the Washington office and connects stakeholders across the Americas to the Institute’s global policy research and convening power. With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of research, higher education, and policymaking, she has held senior roles at the Brookings Institution, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Harvard Kennedy School, and previously served as Executive Director of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA).
Deeply committed to expanding opportunities for underrepresented talent in international affairs, Leigh brings a strong focus on cultivating the next generation of policy leaders to her role as Chair of PPIA’s Board. She holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and has studied and worked in Hungary and Bulgaria.
